Distinguished Alumni Award
The Holland Educational Foundation honors HHS alumni who have made significant contributions by creating opportunities for Holland students and staff and who actively serve as visible and vocal advocates for Holland Public Schools.

Diamante Balcazar (2021)
Harvard College Alumni, active part of life at the honors college and through mariachi, returns often to volunteer at HHS and his elementary school (Jefferson) to teach kids about how to overcome life challenges and chase after your dreams.Henry Cherry (1996)

Hector Garcia (2002)
HPS dad and coach who uses soccer to raise up people who make a difference in the Holland community.

Two Way Bilingual Immersion Educator, Ballet Folklorico Sol Azteca leader, parent of HPS students, loving advocate for all kids.

Donna Brooks (1966)
Loyal alumna, philanthropist, and part of the team that created the Holland High School Class of 1966 Promise Scholarship.
Kate Leighton-Colburn (2009)
Fierce advocate of HPS and all HPS students, leadership at the Holland Museum and Out on the Lakeshore.
Johnny Rodriguez (2004)
Former Executive Director at Latin Americans United for Progress, a passionate advocate for HPS students, and works hard to create opportunities for others.
Sarah Le Febre (1992)
Holland High School English teacher, sponsor of the Future Educators program, parent of HPS students and alumni, and has a license plate that shows her loyalty and states “LUVHHS.”
Jeff Padnos (1966)
Chairman of Padnos, philanthropist, and part of the team that created the Holland High School Class of 1966 Promise Scholarship. Jeff and his wife Peg Padnos were honorary co-chairs of the HHS/HEF Anne Frank Exhibit and past HEF board member.
Jeff Elhart (1976)
Former Holland Educational Foundation (HEF) board member and active and generous HEF leader, and creator of the BeNice campaign.
Coreontae DeBerry (2012)
American professional basketball player, organizer of the Return to the Dome Summer Classic basketball games.

Give Back!
Each year, the Holland Educational Foundation (HEF) provides vital funds for innovative teaching tools and experiences beyond standard budgets.
HEF is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, established in 1984 to provide community and business support for the students of Holland Public Schools.
Funds raised are distributed through semi-annual grants to HPS teachers and staff.
